Rubber Seals
Rubbertech have been a manufacturer of Rubber Seals for more than 20 years and supply into the marine, electronics & medical industries.
Rubber Seals are used to prevent the passage of fluid, gas or liquid by forming a low pressure seal which is often against dynamic moving faces. These mouldings can be designed and manufactured to achieve specific IP seal ratings. As an experienced manufacturer, we are happy to assist with the seal design to help obtain these ratings.
Rubber Seals can be produced in many materials depending on the environment and end use that is specified by our customer. Although Rubbertech are primarily a rubber mouldings company, we will manufacture in other rubber materials if the product demands such as Neoprene, Nitriles, EPDM and Fluorosilicone.
Our capabilities mean that we can supply rubber seals in medical approved, flame retardant, conductive, steam irradiation resistant and RF screening materials. If a seal is required as an assembly to metal or specific plastics including PTFE then we also have experience of this.
Silicone Rubber seals can be produced by extrusion methods, punched from sheet if the profile is flat, moulded by compression or injection methods. All of these methods require tooling and this can range from low cost for punch tools to higher costs for the moulding compression or injection tools. The best method is ultimately decided by the design of the part and the estimated quantities required.
Silicone rubber seals can be colour matched easily, however if other materials are used (such as Neoprene and Nitrile) then colour matching is usually more difficult.
Rubbertech have superb relationships with material suppliers and excellent toolmakers, which enables us to offer excellent service, value and flexibility to our customers for both small and large enquiries. |
