Antimicrobial Coating (AMC)
Antimicrobial Coating (AMC) - Decreasing the opportunities for microbiological infection.
Anti-bacterial coatings will reduce rapidly the number of living bacteria on the product
surface. Testing has demonstrated that a major reduction in bacterial
contamination occurs within 1 hour.
Microbial contamination is an important issue especially in the area of
healthcare and food preparation. Anti-bacterial coating will check the growth of such
contamination and reduce opportunities for infection and disease.
In addition, anti-bacterial coating combats possible product discolouration and odour.
A silicone based polymer containing a matrix of metal ions. This material
is applied to the surface and cross-linked to produce a bonded surface layer.
The metal ions are released by action of moisture. This release continues
even when the surface is worn as the metal ions are in a homogeneous
blend throughout the Antimicrobial Coating.
Antimicrobial Coating ( AMC ) is a permanent spray coating covering the
surface of a product. It is for the control of micro-organisms.
